A CRAFT
Amsterdam, July 2022
So I didn’t necessarily want to capture everything in words but be closer to it, to touch the skies, to know the joy of an astronaut, who knows, even be able to give God a hug, looking down from a distance I placed a pen in my hand.
So to be able to describe the beauty of the stars, the sense of squeamish life, to understand the magic of all loss, to be able to write in such an ordered way that not a word, not a character can flee and slam the door behind them.
So to be able to understand the world, to pour a loss of flesh into ink, to not always be so hungry but still to yearn, to go against all expectations, and to simply and honestly admit that I went off in search of the universe.
So to become like this, not so much a poet, as closer to everything, you must remain in the dark, you must become like a fisher who doesn’t always get a bite, who sometimes catches nothing but still sits there every day.
